Fading Garden Delights

Sometimes the end-of-season fading of the garden is a relief.  Instead of going out with several buckets to start picking, and wondering when I'll have time to get all the tomatoes "put up", I scrounge around and find enough goodies in the garden to make something tasty out of leftover, plain rice.  A few Roma tomatoes, 2 spring onions, a red onion, a little basil... Enough for tonight.

Also, I was so pleasantly surprised (delighted, really), when I realized that the heirloom husk cherry tomatos had thrived.  I didn't think that they had.  I also couldn't help squealing with pleasure when I tasted them.

They are fruitier and sweeter than a cherry tomato.  I like how they look too.
