Cubicle Fabric Rustic Bags

Check out these  lined "burlap" bags for kitchen storage by Cynthia (The Sewing Dork)! (Don't forget to check out her blog to see what else she's been up to...) I love her contrasting fabric choice and this is such a useful, pretty idea for the cubicle fabric.

...I'm inspired to make these and the coasters she made!  These two projects are perfect for simple gifts that just about anyone can use...
Thank you, Cynthia, for playing along with the cubicle fabric project.  You came up with two great ideas!

  1. I like those bags...they're cool. That material looks like it could be made into just about anything...and I like that the weave looks like it could be easily cross stitched or embroidered on. Cool stuff!

  2. You know, Merry Mama...perhaps you could try marketing that material as something for some of the primitive decorating fans to stitch onto. Have you tried coffee staining a small piece of it? Really dirty it up with some stain and see how it looks? A lot of those women are doing a lot of projects with rough material like that...and the dirtier it looks, the more they like it. But seriously...that could be stitched on and would look good.
