Sometimes you think "it can't get much worse"....
And then it does.

"Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the desert.
They were brave warriors, ready for battle and able to handle the shield and spear. Their faces were the faces of lions,
and they were as swift as gazelles in the mountains."

Bear with the random passage from the Bible.
I read this the other day and I can't get it out of my head.."Their faces were the faces of lions..."

What, exactly, does that mean?

It certainly meant that their faces were NOT an art exhibit for Sorrow and Fear.

Why does Darkness always surprise me
Why does the Terrible Battle, and the fact that It Is , overwhelm me?
People...Warriors...have been fighting for what they believe in since shortly after the Beginning.

The Stakes have always been high.  Terribly, horrifically high.
Magnificent, Brave Warriors died in their fight.
They still do.

Why would it be any different for...me?
Do they Weep and Wail?
Tremble about the "What ifs?"

They become experts in the art of War.
They Train.
They Prepare.
They accept what they Face.
And they face It.

"Their faces were the faces of lions..."

  1. Before they went out to battle, and even as they marched, they worshiped. "he sent the worshippers to the front" ....seemingly impossible. But possible, if we try, to see God's goodness in the midst of suffering, trials, anguish, loss. Still praying.

  2. Thinking of and praying for you, my bf and your family every single day. Love you and miss you. KAM

  3. Thank you, KAM. :) And Angie, I love the fascinating fact...I didn't know that.
